She has co-authored four books, including Critical Thinking: Tools for Taking Charge of Your Learning and Your Life, Critical Thinking: Tools for Taking Charge of Your Professional and Personal Life, and 30 Days to Better Thinking and Better Living. She has co-authored 24 Thinker’s Guides on critical thinking.

Dr. Elder began drawing in September 2014; her primary interest is in the Classical school of art, with emphasis on life-size bust portraiture. All of the drawings in the Linda Elder art gallery are rendered using graphite on acid free paper. Her earliest drawings were of her husband Richard Paul, of which she has drawn 13 portraits to present. Nine of these are in the Linda Elder art gallery. Her current interest is in expanding the distinguished thinkers gallery, to include not only Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, Henry David Thoreau, John Stuart Mill, and Richard Paul, but also Tom Paine who will be available soon in the gallery, as well as Jane Austen, for whom no good portrait was made during her lifetime.
